A Fond Farewell to Greg Skipper

With both a profound sense of gratitude and sadness, we announce the resignation of Calvary Home for Children’s Pastor/Executive Director, Greg Skipper.

Greg served our campus and community faithfully for nearly 14 years and his leadership has shaped Calvary Home into the organization it is today.

As a volunteer and board member, I can say without a doubt that there is not a corner of this campus Greg didn’t reach. Whether he’s mentoring our foster parents, coordinating volunteer work days, goofing around with the kids in tutoring (I should know!!), or mowing the grass himself, he does it with wisdom and care.

Suffice to say, our Board is extremely thankful for all his efforts on behalf of both our organization as well as the foster care community as a whole. I am sure Greg will continue to make this world a better place through his mentorship and ministry.

After Greg delivered the news of his departure, our Board knew that replacing his presence on campus would be difficult after all these years. Thankfully for us, God had His hand in this transition long before we were even considering it.

For the last ten years, Laura Lindsley has served our campus in various roles – she served in one of our cottages as a house mom, she’s been a licensing agent for Miracle Hill, and she’s been an incredible Community Relations Director since 2019.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that she is stepping into the role of Executive Director. To be able to hire someone who already has an intimate knowledge of our mission, our community, and the ways Calvary Home works behind the scenes to provide help, hope, and home to the kids on our campus is an immense blessing.

After voting to finalize the decision, our Board met with Greg and Laura on Monday, March 13th to address some more immediate transitional topics and open the floor to Laura to cast a vision for our organization. We can not wait to see how the Lord uses her leadership to continue to grow Calvary Home for Children in an effort to forever change little lives.

While Greg will be sorely missed here on our campus, we know that our organization is in wonderfully capable hands. Laura will officially step into the role of Executive Director on April 1, 2023.

If you have any questions or concerns during this time, please reach out to me directly.

Mary Wallner
Chairman of the Calvary Home Board
