Advocate for Children
in Foster Care

We see hundreds of children removed from their homes every year here in South Carolina. While this is a step in the right direction, we know firsthand what kinds of battles children in foster care face–some lasting their entire lives. If you have ever considered being a foster parent, the need is urgent and we urge you to connect with NightLight Christian Adoptions to learn more about what it takes and how much impact you could have on the life of a child.

Every two minutes, a child in the United States is removed from their home and placed into foster care.

As of July of 2022, 1,183 children are in foster care in the Upstate.

70% of foster kids would like to
go to college but only 3% will earn
a college degree.

of children in S.C. who enter foster care at 13 years or older will never be adopted into a permanent home.

“Little becomes much when placed in God’s hands.”

Sallie and Eugene Parker, one of our campus foster parents, share a little more about the impact they see and how God’s provision is perfect. They have seen that no matter what your heart is called to give, God uses it to really make a difference in the lives of the children on our campus.

Advocate for Calvary Home

Calvary Home has an amazing network of support from individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations but the need is ever-growing. If you love what we do here on campus and in our community, please advocate for Calvary Home to your church small group, your office, or your book club. Whether you’re hosting paper good drives or nominating us for grant awards, we can assure you that it would be an enormous blessing for the children on our campus as $0.72 of every dollar we receive goes directly to their care.

We provide life-skills classes to prepare our students for a more successful life.

Our students were provided with
over 500 tutoring hours on campus free of charge.

45 children stayed at least one
night on campus, therefore hearing
the Gospel message.

2,550 hours of emotional and trauma counseling happened on campus.
