A Crowning Success!
Our staff has dreamed about this event for several years and this year we were finally able to bring it to life. We planned a prom-like dance complete with sparkly pink carpet, punch, a playlist packed with 90s music and, most importantly, no boys! We hoped that ladies would buy into the idea of running from Prom Queen well past their 30s – and WOW did they!
Mom Prom took place on October 13th at The Market Theatre in downtown Anderson and we were blown away by the energy and excitement that surrounded the event. In addition to nearly packing out the venue with eager prom-goers, we had three lovely ladies in the running for Prom Queen: Lisa Applewhite, Lauren James, and Anna Wallace.
To earn “votes” these ladies had to fundraise on behalf of Calvary Home. We were absolutely blown away when we counted up over $6,000 that these hopeful Prom Queens had raised for Calvary! The “votes”were tight, but we were thrilled to crown Anna Wallace as our first-ever Mom Prom Queen!
We are so thankful to all the women who came to dance with us, to all the sponsors that made it happen, and to everyone who supported Calvary Home by casting their “vote”. This event was so, so fun to be a part of and we can’t wait to do it even bigger and better next year!
